Turai Rishon ( Hebrew טוראי ראשון ), or Tarash ( Hebrew טר"ש ) - the military rank of military personnel in the Israeli Defense Forces .

Approximately corresponds to the Russian rank of corporal or the ranks of " Lance corporal " or Private First Class in the armies of the world [1] . Not currently used.

History

During the formation of the state of Israel, many ranks in the Israel Defense Forces were different for each type of army. So, in the ground forces this title was called “Turai Rishon”, in the Air Force - “Avirai Rishon” ( English אוויראי ראשון in translation “first pilot”), in the Navy - “Malach Rishon” ( English מלח ראשון in translation “first Sailor ") [2] .

At the beginning of 1951, during the reform process, the lower ranks in all military branches were standardized according to the ground forces and received the general name Turai Rishon [3] .

Since 1991, this title has not been awarded, but until 1999 remained in the Israel Defense Forces rank system for reservists; In the summer of 1999, the title was officially abolished, and all reservists who still had it received the title of Rabat .
