Shlema Khaimovich Livshits ( February 13, 1899 , St. Petersburg - July 26, 2004 , Knoxville , Tennessee ) - the oldest person to have accepted American citizenship and an immigrant in the history of the United States, one of the oldest residents of the United States and Russia, one of the world's oldest participants in the Civil and World War II .

Biography
Member of the Civil War in Russia; it is alleged that he fought along with Budyonny . Member of the Great Patriotic War , Victory in May 1945 met in Prague . Cavalier of the Order of the Patriotic War . He lived in St. Petersburg . Master shoemaker , worked in Pushkin .
He lived in the USA since 1996 , citizenship was issued on December 17, 2003 . According to his son, Vladimir, his father received citizenship in order to become a full-fledged citizen and vote in elections .
Sh. H. Livshits lived in Knoxville ( Tennessee ), and the mayor of Knoxville and members of the US Congress arrived to congratulate him on receiving citizenship at the hospital, where the oldest person accepting American citizenship was being treated.
