History
The Sumy Avangard football team began its performance in the USSR Championship among the teams of B class masters in 1960 . That season there was a change in the rules and a full-fledged Ukrainian zone appeared in the championship. One of the places formed was given to Sumy, as a result of which Avangard was assembled from the best players of local amateur football teams [1] . In 1968 , citizens of Sumy became silver medalists of their zone. A year later, they became the group's winners and won bronze medals and a place in the second group of class “A” in the final. The following seasons were not very successful for the Sumy footballers, only in 1974 Frunzenets (as the team began to be called) took fourth place in the tournament of the teams of the second league. In 1982, the citizens of Sumy left the league of masters.
In 1999 the club was revived under the name "Frunzenets-League-99". Under this name, the team played in the second league of the championship of Ukraine before the 2001/02 season , in which it took the 5th place. For the next season, the team has not appeared. The merger of FC Frunzenets-League-99 and FC Sumy took place .
