Biography
Eduard Kolmanovsky was born on January 9, 1923 in Mogilev (now in Belarus ), in the Jewish family of Savely Markovich Kolmanovsky and Raisa Naumovna Pavlovskaya. [3]
In 1936-1941 he studied at the music school and music school. The Gnesins in Moscow with O. F. Gnesina (piano), E. O. Messner and F. E. Vitachek (composition). In 1945 he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in composition with V. Ya. Shebalin [1] .
He began his creative career in 1943.
In 1947-1952 he was the editor-in-chief of musical broadcasting of the All-Union Radio [4] .
The repertoire includes more than 200 songs (to the lyrics by K. Ya. Vanshenkin , E. A. Dolmatovsky , E. A. Evtushenko , M. L. Matusovsky , L. I. Oshanin , I. D. Shaferan and others). He is the author of music for many dramatic performances (for the comedy Twelfth Night by W. Shakespeare , Old Friends by L. A. Malyugin , The Convent of V. A. Dykhovichny and M. R. Slobodsky, Tom Kenti S. V Mikhalkov , The Naked King by E. L. Schwartz , The Steelworkers by G. K. Bokarev and others), musical comedies (Oh, this Vronsky (1976)), musical fairy tale opera Snow White (1965 ), music for films, cartoons, television films, radio shows, instrumental plays, major orchestral works (4 suites: Lyric (1945), on Greek themes (1948), Slavic (1950 ), from music to the W. Twelfth Night comedy by W. Shakespeare (for soloists and symphony orchestra, 1956), concert for viola (1945); for voice and piano - romances by the lyrics by M. Yu. Lermontov, A. S. Pushkin , R. Burns; plays for pop orchestra.
Eduard Kolmanovsky died on July 27, 1994 in Moscow . He was buried at Vvedensky cemetery .
Family
- In the second grade, he met his future wife Tamara Naumovna Meisel (1923-1968). In the sixth grade, when he was 13 years old and Tamara 12, they agreed to get married as soon as possible [5] . In 1943 he married her. In 1945, their son Sergei Kolmanovsky was born, who later also became a composer [6] , in 1956 - his son Alexander Kolmanovsky, now a psychologist [7] . Tamara Naumovna became a philologist, candidate of sciences, teacher of English. January 15, 1968 she died in a car accident (the driver of the car was the composer A.P. Dolukhanyan ) [8] .
- Uncle - David Markovich Kolmanovsky (1896-1937), engineer and production organizer, head of the Glavkhimplastmass association of the People's Commissariat of Heavy Industry of the USSR (executed); his wife is actress Valentina Vagrina . Maternal uncle - publisher and sinologist Mikhail Naumovich Pavlovsky .
