The parish of the village of Mozhga was opened on June 3, 1751 , the wooden church was consecrated by Metropolitan of Kazan Luke on November 30, 1754 in the name of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God [1] . In 1791, the village was transferred to the Vyatka diocese . In 1816, a charitable letter was given for the construction of a stone church with two aisles. July 9, 1844 the first throne of the warm stone church was consecrated - in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker , the right throne of the warm church was consecrated in 1846 in honor of St. Basil the Great . The cold church was consecrated on October 21, 1862 in the name of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God.
The temple practically did not close.
For a long time, the rector of the church was Mitroforos Archpriest Nikolai Angelich (died on June 1, 2008 ) [2] [3] .
