Elegant Gothic aristocrat or Goshikku Kei ( Eng. Elegant Gothic Aristocrat , EGA) together with Elegant Gothic Lolita (EGL) is part of Japanese Gothic fashion . The term "Elegant Gothic aristocrat" was originally coined by Mana , a fashion designer and one of the most famous Japanese guitarists, and was originally used to refer to his clothing models in the Moi-même-Moitié store. EGA became widespread in Japan in the 1990s, along with Visual Kei and its subspecies Kote. Ultimately, the style became more accessible when leading stores began selling EGA-style clothing. Nowadays, this style of clothing is often followed by fans of Visual kei, radical Gothic and musicians from groups such as Versailles , Lareine , GPKism and people from the Gothic subculture.

Style
The style imitates the romantic perception of men's fashion of the 17th-18th centuries in the upper layers of Europe, with an emphasis on elegance and mannerism in behavior. Retro elements are often used such as: a classic costume (from the Victorian era), a top hat , frill shirts, long raincoats of expensive cut, etc. Metro - sexual elements, long hair and an abundance of cosmetics predominate in the wearer's appearance. From Gothic fashion, the style adopted symbols such as leather pants , ankh symbol and some other elements of the Gothic subculture.

There are other variations of the Aristocrat style:
- Erotic ( Ero ) aristocrat: The predominance of elements that emphasize the androgynous ideal of beauty , and the lesser influence of the Gothic fashion.
- Sweet aristocrat: The opposite image to the Gothic aristocrat, if EGA is mainly based on “adult” elements of clothing, this direction is more focused on the teenage version of the aristocratic fashion, with a predominance of joyful and bright colors.
