Biography

Thomas began his football career in 1977 by joining the local BSG Robotron Sömmerda. In 1983, Linke transferred to Erfurt's Roth-Weiss .

Thomas Linke reached his greatest prosperity as part of Schalke 04 and the most titled and eminent club of the country - Munich Bavaria . Thanks to successful performances for the club, he became a key defender in the Bundestim for several years. From 1997 to 2004 he played 43 matches for the German national team , scored one goal.

Linke also completed his career as a member of the Munich club, but already in Bavaria II - a German grand farm club serving in the Regional League . He was nearly 39 years old.

In 2008, Linke served as adviser to the sports director of FC Salzburg Heinz Hochhauser. In 2011, he was appointed the sports director of the newly formed RB Leipzig club. Later, he held a similar position in the teams "Ingolstadt 04" and "Red Bull" (Salzburg).
