Biography

Born in 1954 in Leningrad . He graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography, Department of Dramatic Art (course of I. A. Grinshpun, 1977). At the end of the institute, he was invited to the Sverdlovsk Theater of Musical Comedy as a stage director. Debut: performance to the music of V. Ilyin “Late Serenade” (1977). Since 1981 he worked at the Leningrad Theater of Musical Comedy, on the stage of which he performed three productions and a number of productions in other theaters of the country. He began to engage in teaching activities at the Leningrad College of Music as an acting teacher. In 1986 he headed the Sverdlovsk Theater of Musical Comedy as the main director. 1987 - Professor, Head of the Department of Music Theater at the Unified State Technical University, (1999), as a course leader, he completed four full graduations. In 2004 he was awarded the honorary title "People's Artist of Russia". In 2002, K. S. Strezhnev was invited to head the Commission on the operetta and musical of the musical theater cabinet STD of the Russian Federation.
