Club career

Aron Mokoena began a football career at home in the Jomo Cosmos club, and then briefly moved to Germany, where he played for the Bayer 04 youth squad. In February 1999, Aron signed a five-year contract with the Ajax Amsterdam [3] . In the Dutch championship, he made his debut on November 7 in a away match with Sparta , coming on as a substitute. Mokoena entered the game in the 68th minute, replacing Nikos Mahlas . “Ajax” won away with a score of 1: 2 [4] . That season, Aron played in seven championship matches, and also took part in one UEFA Cup game [5] .

In March 2001, Mokoena was leased to the Belgian club Germinal Beershot [6] . In June 2002, Ajax entered into a new lease agreement with the Belgian team [7] .
