Branko Strupar was born in Zagreb. The first team to play for was the Spansko Football Club.
He played in Belgium for Genk. He became the champion of the country in 1999. In 1998, he became the top scorer of the championship with 22 goals [2] and was recognized as the second player in the championship of Belgium after Per Zetterberg [3] . He moved to Derby County in December 1999.
After leaving Derby, he played for Dynamo (Zagreb).
In 1999, thanks to marriage, he became a citizen of Belgium. He played 17 matches for the national team of this country and scored five goals.
