Biography
Born March 24, 1797 in the family of foreman Andrei Ivanovich (Andreas Johann) Fredericks and his wife Maria, daughter of General-General I. I. Meller-Zakomelsky . Brothers: Alexander (1778–1849, lieutenant general) and Peter (1786–1855, major general, chief-stalmeister, real privy councilor).
He entered the Forestry Department in 1811, but after three years he changed his civilian service to military and was appointed ensign in the Kozlovsky Infantry Regiment , in whose ranks he participated in the 1814 Overseas Campaign .
In 1827, while participating in the Russian-Persian war , he was appointed commander of the Erivan Carabinieri Regiment , commanding which he also campaigned 1828-1829 against the Turks . During the last war Fredericks repeatedly had military distinctions, for which he was awarded the Order of St. St. George 4th degree (November 16, 1828, No. 4180 according to the cavalier list of Grigorovich - Stepanov) and two gold swords with the inscription "For courage" , of which the second was decorated with diamonds (January 1, 1829 and August 19, 1829).
Since 1830, Fredericks commanded the 1st Brigade of the 15th Infantry Division and in 1831 fought against Polish insurgents .
In 1856, Fredericks was appointed Honorary Guardian of the St. Petersburg Board of Trustees; promoted to lieutenant general in 1858, Baron Fredericks in 1861 was made a comrade in chief of the IV department of His Majesty’s own Chancellery and corrected this post until the end of his life. In 1864 he was awarded the title of Adjutant General .
From 1856 to 1869 he was a member of the Board of Trustees of public charity institutions in St. Petersburg, a trustee of city almshouses [1] .
He died on May 26, 1874 in St. Petersburg , was buried at the Volkov Lutheran cemetery . Married to Emma Adolfovna von Wulf left the sons of Alexander and Vladimir .
