Obturator (rocket technology)

Obturator - part of the launch complex of some rocket technology samples (for example, in the launch equipment of the Polaris rocket)

At start-up, high-pressure compressed air is supplied under the shutter. The obturator begins to accelerate the rocket, which with its head part drops (pushes) the lid of the container and then, by inertia, leaves the launch shaft.
