The list of persons deprived of the title of Hero of the Soviet Union consists of the following sections.

The first section lists in alphabetical order all [1] persons (total 72 people [2] ) who were legally, for performing feats and other outstanding services to the state , on presentation were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, but subsequently, on various reasons (most for crimes), are deprived of the title.

The second part of the list contains information about persons (13 people in total [2] ) who were presented for assignment and awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union illegally (undeservedly) and the Decree on the assignment of a title for which was canceled due to its groundlessness.

The list contains information about the surname, first name, patronymic, date of decrees, years of life, reasons for the deprivation of rank.

The final part includes persons deprived and subsequently reinstated in the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
