Vladimir Danilovich Mazurov (born February 29, 1940 , Zlatoust , Chelyabinsk Region ) is a Russian mathematician, professor and, earlier, head of the department of Ural State University named after A.M. Gorky .

Biography
Born in the city of Zlatoust, Chelyabinsk region. After graduating from Ural University (1962) with a major in mathematics, he worked in the Department of Mathematical Programming of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences , where he became a student of S. N. Chernikov and I. I. Eremin .
- 1968 - Head of the laboratory of the department of mathematical programming.
- 1975 - Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
- 1978 - Head of Operations Research, IMM.
- 1980 - Professor.
- From 1991 to 2010 - founder and head of the Department of Economic Modeling and Computer Science, Faculty of Economics, USU .
- From 2010 to the present vr. - Professor, Department of Econometrics and Statistics, Higher School of Economics and Management, Ural Federal University.
- From 1996 to the present vr. - Professor, Department of Mathematical Economics, Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics, Ural State University (now UrFU).
He prepared 13 candidates of sciences and 1 doctor of sciences.
He is a member of the editorial board of the international magazines Pattern Recognition and Image Analysis and IJSEKE, as well as the journal Izvestia of the Ural State University. Mathematics and mechanics. "

Scientific activity
Research interests in mathematical programming and pattern recognition. He is developing an algebraic theory of pattern recognition in conjunction with methods of mathematical programming, methods for obtaining solutions under conditions of non-stationarity and non-property.
