Content

History

The creation of the institute in Petrograd began with a resolution of the board of the Commissariat of Health of the Northern Region Commune of September 21, 1919 . It was decided to open a laboratory in 6 departments, and together with the Commissariat of Education to elaborate in detail the regulation on the organization of the institute in Petrograd. On December 5, 1918, a constituent commission convened to create a higher veterinary educational institution in the Northern Region.

The Academy is located in the former building of the Almshouse Crafts Society, built in 1873-1874. according to the project of the architect G. I. Wintergalter (it was rebuilt in 1900-1902 according to the project of the architect V. A. Prussakov ) [1] . The complex of buildings of charitable institutions of the Craft Society (consisting of an almshouse; Alexander Nevskaya school with a house church; a garden; a fence) by order of the KGIOP No. 10-346 dated 06/26/2014 is included in the Unified State Register of Cultural Heritage Sites (Historical and Cultural Monuments) of the Russian Peoples Federation as an architectural monument of regional importance. [2]
