The main characters are the leadership of the USSR, Soviet military leaders and leaders of the European Communist Parties, not only those who led them at that time ( Clement Gottwald , Georgy Dimitrov , Wilhelm Peak ), but also the future leaders of the Soviet bloc states who were in power during the filming of the film ( Todor Zhivkov , Gustav Husak , Nicolae Ceausescu , Janos Kadar ). Production
Yuri Ozerov widely used the opportunities to attract film companies of the Warsaw Treaty member countries for the implementation of his projects. His next epic "Soldiers of Freedom" was shot with the support of a number of studios, including Barrandov, called "Red Hollywood ." Soviet directors loved Barrandov, and if they were given the opportunity to “knock out” filming in Czechoslovakia, they willingly went to Prague [2] .
