Bogdan Gheorghe Stelea ( Roman: Bogdan Gheorghe Stelea ; born December 5, 1967, Bucharest) - Romanian football player, goalkeeper. Repeated champion , medalist, winner of the Romanian Cup in the Bucharest Dynamo and Steaua. He participated in three world championships (1990, 1994, 1998) and two European championships (1996, 2000).

Club career

In adult football, he made his debut in 1986 with appearances for the Dynamo club team ( Bucharest ), in which he played in only one championship match that year. During 1987, on loan, he played for the Polytechnic club team ( Timisoara ).

In the same year he returned to the club Dynamo (Bucharest). This time, he played for the Bucharest team the next four seasons of his playing career. Most of the time spent in the Dynamo Bucharest was the main player on the team. During this time he won the title of champion of Romania , became the owner of the Cup of Romania .

From 1991 to 1997 he played in the teams of the clubs Mallorca , Standard ( Liège ), Rapid (Bucharest), Samsunspor and Steaua . With the last team he added two more Romanian titles to the list of his trophies, again became the owner of the Romanian Cup (also twice).

In 1997, he signed a contract with the Spanish club Salamanca , which included spent the next five years of his career. Playing in the Salamanca, he also entered the field in the main team.

During 2002-2008 he defended the colors of the Rapid (Bucharest), Dynamo (Bucharest), Akratitos , Ocelul and Unira ( Urzichen ) clubs . During these years, he added to the list of his trophies another title of the holder of the Romanian Cup (with Rapid).

He completed his professional playing career at Brasov , for whose team he played for 2008-2009.

Team appearances

In 1988 he made his debut in official matches as part of the national team of Romania . During his career in the national team, which lasted 18 years, he held 91 matches in the form of the country's main team.

As part of the national team, he participated in five major international tournaments - the 1990 World Cup in Italy , the 1994 World Cup in the USA , the 1996 European Championship in England , the 1998 World Cup in France , and the 2000 European Championship in Belgium and the Netherlands .

Trainer career

He began his coaching career immediately after the completion of his player’s career, in 2009, having entered the coaching staff of the Romanian national team as an assistant to head coach Rezvan Lucescu . He worked with the national team until 2011.

From 2012 to 2014, he headed the coaching staff of the teams of the Astra ( Ploiesti ) and Viitorul clubs, as well as the Romanian youth team .
