"Reporter" is a novel by Julian Semenov , first published in 1987 . The fourth book in the cycle about Colonel Kostenko.
Story
Although formally the novel refers to the pentalogy about police colonel Vladislav Kostenko, the protagonist is not he, but journalist Ivan Varravin, exposing an underground syndicate of art dealers, who are both activists of the nascent Russian nationalist movement and aggressive anti-Semites. In addition, a significant place in the novel is occupied by two favorite themes of Semyonov - Vlasovites and the possibility of private enterprise under socialism. Quickly written in hot pursuit of current political events, the novel did not have the usual success for Semyonov’s books.
