The Kalimian period ( Eng. Calymmian period , from other Greek. Κάλυμμα - “cover”) is the first geological period of the Mesoproterozoic era, which lasted 1600-1400 million years ago (chronometric dating, not based on stratigraphy ) [1] .
The period is characterized by the expansion of existing sedimentary covers and the emergence of new continental plates as a result of sedimentation on new cratons .
During the course of potassium, about 1,500 million years ago, the supercontinent Colombia collapsed.
