Matías Lauda ( German: Matias Lauda was born on January 30, 1981 in Salzburg ) - a hereditary Austrian race car driver . The son of three-time Formula 1 champion Nicky Lauda and Marlene, he also has a brother Lucas , who is his manager.

Career
Lauda was born when his father temporarily left Formula 1 . Unlike most pilots who started their career with karting , Lauda made his debut in 2002 in Formula Nissan 2000 . He spent two races in German Formula VW and one race in Spanish Formula 3 . He moved to World Series Light in 2003 for the Vergani team after moving to Euroseries 3000 in 2004. Later in 2004, he moved to Formula 3000 , where he spent the whole season for the Coloni Motorsport team .
Lauda took part in the 2005 GP2 season for the same Coloni team, with former Formula 1 driver Janmaria Bruni . He was one of several participants in the GP2 season who had a full experience season in Formula 3000, but he turned out to be the worst of them. He also represented the Austrian team in the 2005-06 A1 Grand Prix season .
Not having achieved significant success in the open-wheel series, Lauda decided to turn his attention to touring car racing. Since 2006, he has been performing in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters series along with Mercedes-Benz . Since 2008, also participates in the Speedcar Series .
