Biography
J. Gverzoni - a participant in the war for the independence of Italy , the Austro-Italian wars in 1859 and 1860 . He took part in the campaign "thousands" in 1860 , one of the organizers of the campaigns against Rome in 1862 , 1867, as well as the expedition of N. Biskio, which led to the liberation of Rome from the authority of the pope .
By his political views - a Republican. After the unification of Italy, Gverzoni was a member of parliament in 1865-1874 , a professor of the history of Italian literature at the universities of Palermo and Padua .
A friend of Giuseppe Garibaldi wrote his biography. Author of several dramatic works, as well as works on the history of Italy.
