The National Assembly of Belize is a bicameral legislature in Belize . It consists of the House of Representatives (29 elected deputies) and the Senate (8 members appointed for five years).
House of Representatives
Deputies are elected by a majority vote in their constituencies. Initially, under the 1981 Constitution, the House of Representatives had 18 seats, the number of seats was increased to 28 in 1984 , and to 29 in 1993 .
