The Aviation Alliance is an airline partnership that allows you to achieve a higher level of international cooperation in commercial air travel. Airlines within the alliance retain their legal independence, but at the same time unify elements such as a reservation system , a bonus program for air passengers , introduce joint flights and coordinate flight schedules.
The reason for the emergence of aviation alliances is the regulation of air transport at the national level. Thus, commercial air travel between Europe and the United States is governed by open skies and is carried out only by airlines of the contracting countries. For example, air transportation between the USA and France can be carried out only by American and French airlines. A German airline cannot be present in this market, but thanks to membership in the alliance, the German airline Lufthansa , for example, can offer such a flight through code-sharing with United Airlines .

A major aviation alliance was the Qualiflyer Group , which broke up in 2001, led by the Swiss airline Swissair .
From 2006 to 2010 there was an unofficial Arabesk Airline Alliance , uniting at different times from 7 to 10 airlines in Arab countries (some of which were members of SkyTeam, Star Alliance, Oneworld). The alliance virtually ceased to exist after the creation in 2010 of the Arab Air Organization ( AACO ), which includes 32 members [5]
National and regional aviation alliances exist in different regions, but only in Brazil there are several local alliances at the same time. The largest national aviation alliance is the Chinese Xinxing , which includes six Chinese carriers, including Hainan Airlines and Sichuan Airlines .
