Porno for Pyros was an American alternative rock band . It was a new project by Perry Farrell and Stephen Perkins, after the breakup of their former band Jane's Addiction .

Group History
After the collapse of the commercially successful Jane's Addiction project, frontman Perry Farrell and drummer Stephen Perkins formed Porno for Pyros along with guitarist Peter Di Stefano and bassist Martin Lenoble. Farrell named the group after the fireworks advertisement he viewed in a pornographic magazine. The title is also associated with the lyrics of one of the Los Angeles riots songs in 1992 , when the band was just in its infancy. Prior to the release of the first self-titled album, the group went on a tour of the country to promote their name. By the time the album was released, there was already a stir around the group, as a result, the album was on the third line in the American Billboard 200 chart . The reaction to the album was mixed, someone enthusiastically took the album, and someone was disappointed. The clip for the first single from the Pets album received heavy rotation on MTV . After the release of their debut album, Porno for Pyros went on a big tour and performed at the Woodstock '94 festival. Unlike the simple rock show that Jane's Addiction performed, Porno for Pyros relied on various special effects (including an unlimited number of pyrotechnics ).
The band's bass player, Martin Lenoble, left the band after completing most of the bass parts on Good God's Urge's new album. Former Minutemen bassist Mike Watt was invited to the band to complete the recording of the disc, as well as to perform during the tour in support of the album. The album reunited former Jane's Addiction members Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro , who was a guest guest on the song “Freeway”, along with bassist Red Hot Chili Peppers Flea . The group again went on a large-scale tour. At several concerts, the group performed the popular song Jane's Addiction "Mountain Song". This was an omen of the imminent reunion of Jane's Addiction . Soon the tour was stopped due to the fact that Di Stefano had cancer .
Subsequently, Perkins and Watt founded the improvising jazz punk band " Banyan ", and together with Di Stefano perform songs Stooges in the group "Hellride".
Brendan Mullen ’s book , The Jane's Addiction / Porno for Pyros book Whores, states that the third studio album, Porno for Pyros, was composed but never recorded.
In April 2009, the original line-up of the group performed at a party dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Perry Farrell.
