The blue- eyed honey bird [2] ( lat. Entomyzon cyanotis ) is a New Guinean and Australian species of passerine birds from the family of honey birds ( Meliphagidae ), distinguished into a monotypic genus of blue ear honey beetles ( Entomyzon ) [3] . The length of the body is 27-30 cm [4] .

- Entomyzon cyanotis griseigularis - the south of New Guinea and the north of Australia ( Cape York Peninsula , in the north of Queensland) [1] ;
- Entomyzon cyanotis albipennis - from the north of Western Australia to the east through the Top-End in the Northern Territory (including Melville Island) to the extreme northwest of Queensland [1] ;
- Entomyzon cyanotis cyanotis - east Australia - from the Cape York Peninsula south to Victoria and northeast South Australia [1] .
