Needler honey , or red- necked catfish honeyfish [1] ( lat. Acanthagenys rufogularis ), a species of passerine bird from the family of honey beetle (Meliphagidae), the only one in the genus of needle-bearing honey suckers ( Acanthagenys ) [2] .

DescriptionThe body is quite large for honey pumps - from 22 to 27 centimeters, weight about 52 grams [3] . Birds are quite social, aggressive, and often feed in large flocks [4] .
The needle-fed honey hater is a gray-brown bird with a fiery orange throat and chest. The wings are gray with white edges. The tail is long with white tips. The beak is pink with a black edge [4] .
DistributionThe needle-fed honey sucker is mainly fertile , but also feeds on nectar , flowers, insects , reptiles and young chicks [4] . It lives mainly in deserts, coastal shrubs and dry forests [3] , it is also found in mangrove forests [4] . Distributed mainly in Australia [5] .
