Biography
Club career
He started his professional career in the famous Argentine club " River Plate " in 2001. He was considered the most talented goalkeeper in South America at the time. He played 87 games in River Play, winning the Clausura Championships with the team in 2002, 2003 and 2004. In the 2005/06 season, he played for the Spanish “ Deportivo Alaves ”. Immediately after the end of the season Franco Costanzo moved to the Swiss " Basel ", the club paid for him 2.5 million euros. In 2008, Ivan Ergich handed the dressing Costanzo to the captain. Franco is the champion of Switzerland and two-time winner of the national Cup . On July 17, 2008, he was named captain of Basel and signed a new contract until 2011.
