Half-foot construction equipment

Church of the Intercession on the Nerl is built of white stone using semi-foot technique

Semi-boot construction equipment is a medieval walling technique in which two parallel walls were first erected on the site of the future wall from hewn blocks of stone (less often made of brick ), then the void between them was filled with fragments of stone, gravel and brick, then filled with lime mortar .

Semibut technique was widely used in ancient Rome , in Western European Romanesque , Gothic and castle construction, in the white-stone architecture of North-Eastern Russia .

Samples

In this technique, Notre Dame Cathedral , Speyer Cathedral , Transfiguration Cathedral (Pereslavl-Zalessky) , Church of the Intercession on the Nerl and many other churches were built.
