Shekhail ("accompanying God") - the archangel - a cherub in Kabbalistic and Christian angelology . The angel is not known from canonical texts, his name is mentioned in apocryphal tales, where he is the conqueror of demons. [one]
The name of Sychail is mentioned in the legend of the “twelve shaking women” ( fevers ) associated with St. Sisinius . [2] The name of Sychail is present in incantatory prayers, known from Novgorod birch bark letters of the XII century (No. 734 and 1022) [3] , as well as in the conspiracy from birch bark letters No. 930 of the XV century , setting out an apocryphal story about Sisinia, Sychail and twelve fevers.
In cabalistic sources, Sychail is associated in different ways: in most, like Sagittarius and Thursday [4] , in some - on Monday or Friday , almost all associate it with Jupiter .
Also in some Russian-language sources it is known as Sashiel (Sashiel).
