Career

The pupil of the club " Radnichki " from his hometown Pirot . In 1990, he moved to the club " Radnichki " from Nis , from where he moved to the Red Star , but playing for the club only half the season, Stankovic was leased to his former team "Radnichki" from Nish. Upon returning to the "Star", Stankovic has already become a player in the foundations of the club that won the silver medals at the national championship, and a year later won the championship and the Yugoslav Cup. 1995 Stankovic spent in the lease, in the Belgrade club " Radnichki ".

In early 1996, Stankovic went to Spain, becoming a player in the Mallorca club. Stankovic quickly became the player of the Mallorca base, sitting on the left side of the midfield of the club, helping the team reach the Championship Example in Spain. Stankovic became one of the leaders of “Mallorca” Hector Cooper , initially standing out only in the attack, actually speaking at the winger's position, and then acquiring the skills of the game in defense. On August 31, 1997, Stankovic made his debut in the Spanish example, and in the very first season the club reached the 5th place in the championship and the Spanish Cup final, in which he lost to Barcelona on a penalty, one of the penalty kicks Stankovic and it’s curious that punched them in the "Mallorca" were accurate, excluding this. In 1999, Mallorca won the Spanish Super Cup and reached the Cup Final, where she lost 1: 2 to Lazio . The next season, Stankovic received a serious injury from Frank de Boer , who for a long time took him out of football, and after recovering Stankovic was unable to return to the previous level of the game.

In the middle of the 2000/01 season, Stankovic moved to Olympic Marseille , making his debut in the team on February 3, 2001, but there he played extremely irregularly and returned to Spain, moving to Atletico Madrid , who for the first time in many years took off from the highest Spanish division. Stankovic spent two seasons with Atletico, in the first of which he helped the club to return to Example. In 2003, Stankovic returned to Mallorca, but Stankovic could not "recapture" the places in the main squad occupied by Nigerian Finidi George . He ended his career as Stankovic in the club of the second Spanish division " Lleida ".

Having completed his football career, Stankovic did not quit football, becoming an assistant to the head coach of the Portuguese club Beira-Mar , and then Atletico Baleares . Now Stankovic works in the Interfutball group.
