Story
The Great Patriotic War . 1945 year . There are fights for the city on the Danube . The river is mined by the Germans, and this fetters the action of our troops. In addition, a city with a million people was left without food. And downstream are Soviet food barges. The command instructs the reconnaissance group a difficult and dangerous operation - to obtain from the enemy a map of the mined sections of the river, which requires penetrating the city captured by the Germans.

- At one time, the film was a rental leader (1969, 1,557 copies, 10th place) - 35 million viewers.
- Based on real events. Former commander of the Danube Flotilla reconnaissance squad, Viktor Kalganov , nicknamed "The Beard," became a consultant to the filmmakers.
- The film was shot in Kaliningrad (formerly Königsberg) and Riga. The river Pregolya (Pregel) acts as the Danube. In the frames of the film, you can see such objects of Koenigsberg as the Luther’s Church, the bridge house of the New Bridge over one of the Pregel beds (see photo ), the ruins of the Cathedral, and partially - the port’s structure.
- Alexey Smirnov plays a scout and during the war he was an experienced scout.
