Since March 2, 1945 - the commander of the garrison of the city of Breslau (in Silesia). March 5, 1945 was awarded Oak leaves to the Knight's Cross. April 1, 1945 promoted to the rank of infantry general. On April 26, 1945 he was awarded with Swords (No. 147) to the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves.
