Geography
In the 1930s, peat and iron ore deposits were discovered near the village.
Location
28 km south-west of the regional center of Khoiniki and the railway station in this city, located on the Vasilevichi -Khoiniki branch departing from the Brest - Gomel line , 133 km from Gomel .
Hydrography
In the north, reclamation canals associated with the Pripyat River (a tributary of the Dnieper River ).
Transportation System
Transport links by road with the village of Lomachi .
There are no residential buildings in the village ( 2004 ). The layout consists of a long curved street, with orientation from southeast to northwest. A short street adjoins this street from the north. Two-sided building. Wooden houses, manor type.
Ecology and nature
In connection with radiation pollution after the Chernobyl disaster, residents (214 families) were relocated to places not contaminated with radiation.
History
According to written sources, the village has been known since the 16th century as the village of Kozhushkavtsy of the Minsk Voivodeship of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania . In the years 1570-1580, the village belonged to the Yuryev Metropolis . After the 2nd division of the Commonwealth in 1793 as part of the Russian Empire . In 1811, the village was owned by the landowner Horvat. In 1885, the village housed the Holy Trinity Church, a mill .
In 1897 in the village there were: a church, a school of literacy, a bread store, a mill. Near the village was the eponymous farm with a population of 57 inhabitants.
From December 8, 1926 to 1986, the center of the Kozhushkovsky village council of Yurovichsky, July 8, 1931, Khoiniki district] Rechitsky, from June 9, 1927 Mozyrsky (until July 26, 1930 and from June 21, 1935 to February 20, 1938 ) districts, from February 20 1938 Polesskaya , from January 8, 1954, Gomel regions.
In 1931, the villagers entered the collective farm named after A. G. Chervyakov . In the village worked a steam mill , 2 forges .
During the Great Patriotic War , 98 villagers perished on the fronts and guerrilla warfare. In May 1943, the invaders completely burned the village and killed 92 residents.
In 1959, the village was the center of the collective farm named after the XXII Congress of the CPSU. In Kozhushki there was an 8-year-old school , a club, a library , a feldsher-midwife station, a post office , and a store .
Until December 31, 2009 in the Dvorishchansky Village Council [1] , which was renamed Sudkovsky.
