Biography

Born in 1955 in Batumi . Mother - Athena Alexandrovna, teacher of mathematics. Father - Joseph Melitonovich, teacher of Russian language and literature, history; at the age of 16 he was repressed, after his release in 1953 he was rehabilitated.

From the age of 6 he was actively involved in sports. Master of Sports in Water Polo . In 1971, after graduating from high school, he went to Moscow , then to Leningrad , where he played water polo in the team of Baltika craftsmen. The last 30 years he has been engaged in martial arts.

In 1973 he entered the A. I. Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University . Basic education - historical (specialty: teacher of history), a second education - law received at the St. Petersburg Law Academy .

In 1973 he got married. Two daughters, three granddaughters.

In 1979, in Leningrad, he was sentenced to 8 years in prison for robbery and possession of firearms, after serving his sentence he received a second conviction and a 5-year prison term for hooliganism and resistance to the authorities. Both times released on parole.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, he became a citizen of the Russian Federation . In 1992, he founded the Center for Humanitarian and Business Cooperation OJSC in St. Petersburg, now the Talion OJSC, Director General since its inception. He heads the innovative woodworking enterprise he built for the production of glued veneer (LVL) in Torzhok , Tver Oblast .

In 2005, he established the Alexander Nevsky All-Russian Literary Prize , transformed in 2008 into a historical and literary prize and created to popularize the best memorial museum projects and literary works on historical subjects.

The initiator and sponsor of various humanitarian projects, in particular, the installation in the center of St. Petersburg of a monument to Prince Peter Bagration , the hero of the Patriotic War of 1812, and the general of the Russian army. In 2006, Alexander Ebralidze presented the State Hermitage with two unique intaglios — the works of Russian carvers of the first quarter of the 19th century , which were specially bought by him in Germany for the museum.

In 2008, A. I. Ebralidze laid the foundation for a new project to create a cycle of historical research on Russian military leaders of Georgian origin. In autumn 2009, the first work of this cycle, the monograph of the St. Petersburg scientist, Professor E. V. Anisimov, Bagration, was published in the Young Guard publishing house in the series “The Life of Great People”. At the end of 2011, this series will be continued by VV Lapin's book “Tsitsianov”.

Political Activities

In February 2009, Alexander Ebralidze founded and headed the “World Congress of the Nations of Georgia,” which seeks to unite all Georgians living for various reasons outside the historical Homeland, to actively participate in creating a unified, neutral, free, prosperous democratic Georgia. [3]

On May 14, 2009, at the International Conference of the Nations of Georgia in Sochi, he announced his intention to participate in the presidential elections in Georgia, defining the restoration of the territorial integrity of the country, the revival of the Georgian economy and the restoration of friendly relations with Russia as a priority. July 26, 2009 filed a statement with the President of Georgia on the restoration of Georgian citizenship. [five]

Business

Owned by Talion OJSC through which it controls the hotel of the same name in St. Petersburg on the Moika embankment.

Ebralidze was also one of the two main owners of Constance Bank, [6] whose Bank of Russia revoked its license on August 5, 2016. The Central Bank motivated the revocation of the license by the fact that the bank had a major shortage of cash at the checkout. The credit institution has completely lost capital. In addition, the bank was involved in conducting “dubious transit operations”. The leaders and owners of the credit institution, according to the Central Bank, have not taken effective measures to normalize its activities. [7]
