- May 3 - a rare compound ( parade of planets ) of 7 main celestial bodies of the Solar System at once in one line for the first time since 1781 after the discovery of Uranus The parade of the planets included the following celestial bodies: the Sun , the Moon , Mercury , Venus , Mars , Jupiter , Saturn .
- July 13 - Three tablets of the Novgorod Code , the oldest known ancient Russian book , are discovered.
