Vera G. Galaktionova (nee Pavlikova; September 18, 1948 , Syzran, Kuibyshev region) is a Russian writer.

She graduated from school in the village of Pavlovka, Ulyanovsk Region. She studied at the Faculty of History of the Ural Pedagogical Institute , in 1986 she graduated from the prose workshop of V. Roslyakov , A. Pristavkin at the A. Gorky Literary Institute . In the 1980s, she lived in Kazakhstan , later moved to Moscow. She worked as a traveling correspondent, correspondent of regional, republican newspapers in Uralsk, Arkalyk , s. Krutikha of the Altai Territory, Alma-Ata , Karaganda , Moscow, senior editor of the Ural Television Studio , adviser to the public service of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation . Member of the Union of Writers of Russia from 01/15/1987. Lives and works in Moscow.
Literary fame came to her after the publication in 2002 in the magazine " Our Contemporary " the story "With all the subsequent stops." The collection of prose “The Winged House” was on the short list of the National Bestseller Prize, but in the final vote, none of the jury members, chaired by Tina Kandelaki, voted for the book. The writer attributed this to the fact that she refused to portray the Russian man as a bitter drunkard, a snotty freak and a falling tear: “Yes, to replace the“ crying ”Russian hero, who deals exclusively with the funeral of Russia, I am exposing a different type of people. Most often, they are beautiful, impudent, skillful, courageous - even in the tragedy, even in the absurdity of their destinies ” [1] . Later, the main work of this book (the novel “On the Island of Buyan”) by the jury chaired by Svyatoslav Belza awarded the Bunin Prize (2013).
In journalism, he addresses the problems of Karlag , Chernobyl , and Nagorno-Karabakh , studies the schism of Russian spiritual, religious, unity, the mechanisms of the collapse of the Soviet Union , the historical and modern causes of the fragmentation of society, and issues of its consolidation in the post-Soviet space .
The works of V. Galaktionova were considered and discussed by critics and literary critics of different countries in reports and speeches at international literary congresses and scientific conferences in Moscow (Russia), Cambridge (Great Britain), Krakow (Poland), Warsaw (Poland), Astana (Kazakhstan), Paris (France), Seoul (South Korea), Shumen (Bulgaria), Minsk (Belarus), Kherson (Ukraine), Ulyanovsk (Russia), Armavir (Russia), Krasnodar (Russia), Stavropol (Russia), Kaliningrad (Russia).
Member of the Higher Creative Council of the Moscow Writing Organization.
