Bovec ( Slovenian. Bovec , Italian. Plezzo , German. Flitsch ) is a city in the western part of Slovenia , in the Slovenian Primorye region .

Located in the Socha River Valley, close to the border with Austria and Italy . Located at an altitude of 451 m above sea level at the foot of the Kanin peak (2585 m), 136 km north-west of Ljubljana . To the east of the city lies the Triglav National Reserve . It is the highest alpine resort town of Slovenia. First mentioned in written sources in 1192. According to 2012 data, the population of the city is 1,613 people; the population of the entire community is 3186 people.
