Biography
Born in 1899 in the family of the Zemstvo doctor Leonid Alexandrovich Myasnikov (1859-1922) and medical assistant Zinaida Konstantinovna. My father came from a merchant family, graduated from the medical faculty of Moscow University (1886), and was elected three times by the city head of Red Hill .
Alexander's education began in a real school in Bezhetsk , later he studied at gymnasiums in New Peterhof and Tiflis .
In 1917, out of competition, as a gold medalist, he entered the medical faculty of Moscow University.
In 1922, Alexander Myasnikov graduated from the medical faculty of the 1st Moscow State University and until 1932 worked as an assistant in the clinic of the 1st Leningrad Medical Institute under the guidance of Professor G.F. Lang .
In 1932 - 1938 - Head of the Department of Therapy, Novosibirsk Institute of Advanced Medical Studies . Creator and first head of the department of faculty therapy at the Novosibirsk Medical Institute , founded in 1935 . At the same time he was vice-rector for the medical work of this institute. At the age of 35, the monograph “Kidney Diseases” was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences without defending a dissertation [2] .
In 1938 - 1940 - head of the department of faculty therapy of the 3rd Leningrad Medical Institute (now the faculty of training doctors for the Navy of the S. Kirov Military Medical Academy ).
In 1940-1948 he was the head of the department of faculty therapy at the Naval Medical Academy in Leningrad and at the same time (since 1942) the chief therapist of the Navy . Colonel medical service.
Since 1948, the director of the Institute of Therapy of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR (since 1966 - the A. L. Myasnikov Institute of Cardiology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR) and at the same time (1948-1965) the head of the department of hospital therapy at the 1st Moscow Medical Institute.
Among the doctors who observed IV Stalin in the last days of his life [3] .
The main works are devoted to cardiovascular pathology (hypertension, atherosclerosis, coronary insufficiency), liver and biliary tract diseases, infectious diseases (malaria, brucellosis). Created a school of therapists ( E.I. Chazov , I.K. Shkhvatsabaya, Z.S. Volynsky, A.S. Loginov, H.E. Gadzhiev, V.S. Smolensky, etc.).
Chairman of the All-Russian Society of Therapists (since 1957), honorary member of many foreign scientific medical societies, member of the Presidium of the International Therapeutic Society, member of the Presidium of the Academy of Medical Sciences.
International Prize "Golden Stethoscope" (1964). He was awarded the Order of Lenin, 4 other orders, as well as medals.
Shortly before his death, he completed his memoirs, the manuscript was in the family, but it was possible to publish it only in 2011 under the title “I treated Stalin: from the secret archives of the USSR” [3] [4] .
Interesting Facts
In the Myasnikov family, starting with the grandfather of Alexander Ivanovich, the names of Alexander and Leonid alternate from father to eldest son. The grandson of A. L. Myasnikov and his full namesake Alexander Myasnikov is the host of the TV program “ On the most important thing ”.
