PrestaShop is an open source e-commerce web application . This application is written in PHP using the Symfony framework, Twig is used to write templates, and MySQL is used to store data. This engine is designed for small and medium-sized businesses and has more than 310 standard functions for quickly creating a functional store. In 2010 and 2011, PrestaShop was recognized as the best web application for online stores, winning the Best Open-source Business Application award.

The company was officially established in August 2007 by Igor Schlumberger [5] and Bruno Levek [6] . Subsequently, in 2011, an additional office was created in Miami.
PrestaShop has been translated into over 70 languages [7] , including Russian, and 270,000 [8] stores are used around the world. An important role in the development of the company is played by the PrestaShop Community (PrestaShop Community), which currently employs more than 500,000 people.
According to a study by iTrack in June 2015 [9], PrestaShop was installed on 6,000 domains in the .RU zone.
At the end of 2011, PrestaShop had about 100 members of a team of developers, designers and IT professionals specializing in e-commerce. Headquarters are in Paris and Miami.

- A noticeable increase in interest in CMS PrestaShop from small and medium-sized businesses;
- For 2012, the PrestaBox service supports more than 100,000 existing online stores;
- The number of CMS downloads per day exceeds 1,500, and the total number in the history exceeded 4,200,000 downloads from the official site;
- Paid and free support is provided;
- There is a platform integrated also in the administrative part of the store;
- The official PrestaShop forum, including in Russian, is an authoritative platform for exchanging information and supporting users. On the official website there are also: a gallery, a blog and a training resource and much more [10] .
