It was created in 1958 by trumpeter Vsevolod Korolev and clarinet player Alexander Usyskin. The biography of Leningrad Dixieland is inextricably linked with such colorful musicians as Oleg Kuvaytsev, brothers Valentin and Alexander Kolpashnikov, Eduard Levin, Robert Pauser, brothers Boris and Grigory Lokshiny, Alexander Kavlelashvili, Yuri Akulov, Vladimir Gribov, Vladimir Yakovlev, Valery Zavarin, Georg Chikov, Vladimir Voronin and Yuri Miroshnichenko and others.
The credo of the Leningrad Dixieland is a combination of impeccable following tradition with the naturalness of the game. Since the 1960s, the ensemble has performed at international festivals. In the repertoire of the Leningrad Dixieland, dance music of the 1920-1950s.
