On February 17, 2013 he was hospitalized in Makhachkala with a gunshot wound in the abdomen [1] . According to the Dagestan Wrestling Federation, Akhmedov accidentally shot himself while holding a gun while driving a car. As a result of the operation, the bullet was removed, the life of the victim is out of danger [2] .

On August 29, 2016, freestyle wrestler Arthur Taymazov , to whom Bakhtiyar lost in the finals at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing , was officially deprived of a gold medal and the title of Olympic champion for failing doping tests conducted by the IOC again.
