Osjeko-Baranjska [1] , Osijek-Baranje County [2] ( Hor. Osječko-baranjska županija ) - County in the north-east of Croatia , in the north-eastern Slavonia and part of the Baranya region (north of Drava ) belonging to Croatia. The administrative center of the county is Osijek .

Content

Geography

The area is 4155 km². In the south it borders with the county of Brodsko-Posavsk , in the southeast - from Vukovarsko-Sriemsk , in the west - from Pozheshko-Slavonsk and in the north-west - from Virovitichko-Podravsk . In the north, the bordering borders with Hungary , in the east with Serbia (here the border runs along the Danube ).

Territory is lowland, fertile soil. In the central part of the county, the Drava River flows, which flows into the Danube east of Osijek . In the northeast of the county there is Kopachka-Rit nature park .

Population

According to the 2001 census, 330 506 people lived in the county. The national composition of the county: 83.89% Croats , 8.73% Serbs , 2.96% Hungarians , 0.65% Slovaks , 0.30% Gypsies , 0.29% Germans , 0.26% Albanians , 0.15 % Slovenes , 0.12% Bosnians , 0.11% Montenegrins , 0.10% Jews .
