Located 14 km from the district center and 8 km from the railway station Mostiska-2. The highway Lviv - Przemysl passes through the village. Settlements - Bykov, Butsov and Kostyvyata - are subordinated to the rural council.
Shegini is located on the border with Poland and Ukraine. Near the village there is an international automobile and pedestrian checkpoint across the state border with Poland: Shegini - Medyka (Subcarpathian Voivodeship).
