Biography
Matvey Davidovich Harzman was born on October 29, 1909 in Berdichev in a large family of a handicraftsman. He began to write poetry since childhood.
He studied at the Odessa Pedagogical College, then at the Jewish branch of Moscow University .
In 1936 he graduated from the graduate school of the Institute of Jewish Culture of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR.
The author of a number of collections of poetry. Translated into Yiddish by Pushkin, Franco, Shevchenko.
He died at the front in December 1943 . [one]
Grandchildren are artists Matvey Vaysberg and Nikolai Sologubov.
Legacy
Harzman's poems were translated into Ukrainian by P. Tychin , A. Malyshko , V. Sosyura , D. Pavlychko and others, into Russian - N. Ushakov , Yu. Neumann , L. Vysheslavsky , Gordeev, Semyon , M. Shekhter .
