History

In 1948, it was decided to create workshops in the village of Karacharov , near Moscow, supplying metal structures for the high-rise building under construction at Moscow State University , for which a vast territory was allocated on the outskirts of the village. The first elevators of Moscow University and the spire with a star on the Main Building of Moscow State University were created precisely in these workshops, which in 1950 were called the Karacharov Mechanical Plant.

Owners

As of March 31, 2019, the owner of KMZ PJSC was Promsvyazbank PJSC [3] .

Infrastructure

Residential buildings for factory workers were built north of the current Ryazan Avenue as part of the city of Perovo , which later became part of the city of Moscow.

At least 12 workshops were built on the territory of the plant, a clinic was opened, a pool and a stadium were built

Manufactured Products

At different times, the plant produced a wide variety of construction equipment and mechanisms: concrete pavers, telescopic towers, earth-milling machines, mortar trucks, plate hoists, passenger-and-freight rope and rack hoists, tower cranes [4] .

To decorate the shores and locks of the Volga-Don Canal under construction, the plant cast sculptures, ornaments and bas-reliefs.

The steel and aluminum metal structures manufactured at the plant were used in the construction and decoration of such unique buildings as the Kremlin Palace of Congresses , the Ostankino television center , the circus on Vernadsky Prospekt , the cinema Pushkinskiy, Oktyabr, Mir, the Tretyakov Gallery , the memorial on Poklonnaya Gora , the Olympic Flame Bowl installed at the Luzhniki Stadium for the Olympics-80 . In 1957, the plant began mass production of elevators. Since then, elevators occupy the main place and are the hallmark of the plant. [four]

Today's position

The economic problems of the 1990s hit the plant hard, but it survived. Today, Karacharov Mechanical Plant PJSC is one of the leaders in domestic elevator construction. The production capacity of the plant at the moment is about 6 thousand elevators per year [5] .

The nomenclature of the enterprise includes more than 70 models of elevators of various carrying capacities (from 100 to 5000 kg), speeds (from 15 to 150 m / min). At the same time, not only a wide range of models of elevators is offered, but also a full range of services related to the service - from design and manufacture of equipment to its installation and maintenance

Elevators of Karacharov Mechanical Plant PJSC are delivered throughout Russia, to the CIS countries, as well as to foreign countries. Historically, the plant was the main supplier of elevators for the builders of Moscow - in almost every residential neighborhood, elevators manufactured by Karacharov Mechanical Plant PJSC were installed. In addition, they are in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, and in the memorial on Poklonnaya Hill.

In 2007, the plant produced a 200,000th elevator.

In 2018, the company produced 5,473 units of elevators and elevator equipment [2] .
