Matvejeva Selga ( Veps. Matfejansel'g , Fin. Matvejanselkä ) is a village in the Prionezhsky district of the Republic of Karelia , administratively part of the Sheltozero Veps rural settlement , a complex historical monument [2] .

General Information
Located on the southwestern shore of Lake Onega .
In the past, Kuraselga is the center of the unification of the villages of Matveyev Selga (Posad), Myznikova Gora, Gimshina Gora, Kalishkova Gora, Ostasheva Gora.
The village is of historical and architectural interest as an example of a settlement that is traditional for Prionezh Veps .
History
On April 20, 1938, the village priest Mikhail Vasilievich Smirnov (1881–1938) [3] was shot by unjustified accusation of counterrevolutionary activities by the decision of the Special Troika of the NKVD of the Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.

Interesting Facts
The architectural monument of the second half of the XIX century - Belyaev’s barn from Matveyeva Selgi was transferred to the Kizhi museum-reserve . [6]
