The misfortune of Abbas ( azerb. Abbasın bədbəxtliyi ) is the first animated film shot in Azerbaijan based on Azerbaijani folk tales .

Creation History
After the demonstration of the documentary film "Jat" (artist Basov), which used animation techniques, the staff of the Azerbaijanfilm film studio in 1935 decided to make an animated film called "Abbasyn Bedbekhtlii" ("Abbas’s Misfortune"). The director was a young E. Dikarev.
The film is lost.
