Korman, Boris Osipovich

Boris Osipovich (Osherovich) Korman was born on April 19, 1922 in Belarus, in the town of Rechitsa, Gomel Region, in the family of an employee. In 1939 he entered the faculty of the Russian language and literature of the Gomel Pedagogical Institute , but in 1941 the war interrupted his studies. During the war years he worked as a teacher of German and Russian languages ​​and literature.

From 1950 to 1971, he worked at the Borisoglebsky Pedagogical Institute, where he created his main works. He defended his thesis "The Poetry of Maxim Bogdanovich (creative way)" (1951) and his doctoral thesis "Lyrics of N. A. Nekrasov" (1965; opponents B. Ya. Bukhshtab , D. E. Maksimov , K. V. Pigarev and I. G. Yampolsky ).

In the fall of 1971, B.O. Corman was elected to the post of head of the department of Russian and Soviet literature at Udmurt State University . He died of a heart attack on March 2, 1983.

Son - Korman Eli (Ilya Borisovich) (born 1947) is a Soviet and Israeli poet, literary critic, literary critic.

The scientific activity of B.O. Korman is based largely on the works of philologists- " formalists " ( Yu. N. Tynyanova , G. A. Gukovsky , A. P. Scaftymova , L. Ya. Ginzburg , etc.).
