Synonyms: Korgard, Anabet, Betadol, Corgard, Nadic, Solgol. b - Indirect blocker of indiscriminate action (blocks b 1 - and b 2 - adrenergic receptors ). It has a long duration of action. The half-life of 20 to 24 hours (the half-life of propranolol is 2 to 4 hours, pindolol is 3 to 4 hours, metoprolol is 3 to 5 hours, atenolol is 6 to 9 hours). It does not have a negative inotropic effect on the myocardium .
The drug has antianginal activity and is used to treat coronary heart disease . It is also effective in hypertension (mainly in the early stages).
Assign inside (in the form of tablets), regardless of food intake. Due to the long-term effect, it can be used 1 time (sometimes 2 times) per day.
In coronary heart disease, they are taken starting from 40 mg once a day.
After 3-7 days, you can increase the dose to 80 - 160 mg per day (rarely up to 240 mg). The dose is adjusted depending on the effect; in case of excessive bradycardia, the dose is reduced. With hypertension, 40 to 80 mg are prescribed once a day, gradually (at weekly intervals) the dose is increased to 240 mg per day (in 1 to 2 doses). Diuretics or vasodilators can be used simultaneously.
When applying nadolol, fatigue, insomnia , paresthesia, dry mouth, bradycardia , and gastrointestinal disturbances are possible in some cases.
As with other b-adrenergic blockers, discontinuation of the drug should be done by gradually lowering the dose (within 2 weeks).
Corzide * is a combination drug containing 40 or 80 mg of nadolol and 5 mg of a bendroflumethiazide diuretic drug, similar in structure and effect to dichlothiazide in one tablet. It is used to treat arterial hypertension.
Contraindications
The drug is contraindicated in bronchial asthma and a tendency to bronchio-spasm , sinus bradycardia and heart block II or III degree, cardiogenic shock, with pulmonary hypertension, "congestive" heart disease. It should not be prescribed to women during pregnancy and lactation. Caution is needed in renal and liver failure, diabetes.

- Tablets of 20; 40; 80; 120 and 160 mg (0.02; 0.04; 0.08; 0.12 and 0.16 g) in bottles of 100 and 1000 pieces.
