In 1881 - 1886 he lived in Berlin , served as a reader of French novels and newspapers under Empress Augustus . Then he married a young Englishwoman in London , returned with her to Paris, but soon died from tuberculosis .
Creativity
During his lifetime he published three books - two collections of poems and a dramatic poem. Translated Whitman , contributing to the development of the French vers libre . Verlaine , who found the formula for the damned poets , didn’t take Laforga to them, the descendants tried differently.
His poetic practice is included in a kind of “lyrical approach ” against parnasism , he also engaged in experiments on the emancipation of poetic syntax, reformed traditional metric forms, updated the poetic dictionary, introducing into it linguistic elements and intonations of Parisian street, etc. If Verlaine has a symbolist romantic was lyrical, while Rambo was pathetic, then Laforga was dominated by ironic intonation, and his irony was sometimes frivolous, now tragic and does not spare even the poet himself; he lyrically sneers at his own pessimism and rejection of the world. Laforge died young and did not have time to expand his talent. The first book of his “Les complaintes” (“Complaints”) was published in 1885; a second followed shortly after her: "L'imitation de Notre Dame la lune." ("Imitation of Our Lady of the Moon"). Laforge's works were published by Mercure de France in 1902-1903. (3 volumes).
